West Kensington can be found on the western edge of Central London, primarily located within the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham.
Located 3.4 miles west of Charing Cross, this cosmopolitan enclave, renowned for its imposing white stucco fronted regency homes and large red brick Victorian and Edwardian properties, lies adjacent to beautifully lined streets with boutique shops and restaurants. Kensington High Street, Hyde Park and Kensington Palace Gardens along with other attractions are a 10 minute bus ride or 30 minute walk away.
West Kensington also boasts the exclusive Queens Tennis Club where the prestigious Aegon Championships are held every year in June, a week before the Wimbledon Championships. Normand Park, a recently revamped open space adds to the list of hidden gems in the area such as Marcus Garvey Park.
With stations such as West Kensington, Barons Court, Kensington Olympia and High Street Kensington nearby, and ample on-street parking for residents with valid permits, it makes it an ideal location for professionals and families.
Away from the busier Hammersmith and Talgarth roads, you will discover large houses, many converted into large spacious mansion flats, along with quaint two and three storey Victorian homes. West Kensington residents enjoy lower rents than neighbouring Kensington, but are still only a few minutes from all that Kensington has to offer.
The best-performing state primary and secondary schools are undoubtedly The Fulham Preparatory and Queensmill Schools, both rated “outstanding” by Ofsted.
